I’m getting annoyed with you Robin. I decided years ago that I was not having trains running through my city cause they take up too much space. I’m starting to think about it now, so stop making it look so fun! I’m surprised LEGO hasn’t done anything new with train tracks in like 40 years or more that I can think of. Just new trains every couple years. No innovation with tracks. Trixbrix has really changed the game. I haven’t caved yet, but I’m sure watching your updates are going to get me there soon enough. Keep it up.

Ikea sell a SIGNUM Cable tray you could attach in a few places, as long as they don't obstruct the access to the standing holes. Another option is something like CANFORD PLASTIC CABLE TRAY which you can then use zip ties against, which is very similar to what you see near underground platforms, so added authenticity!

Not only super awesome, also very handy automation option to avoid crolling for each time toggling the switch track!

One thing i love with this system, like the 9-V era or classic model trains, is that it is not device-dependant which always need mysterious updates and will become a paper-weight one day or another. Here, it's all electrical. 👍 Less is more.
Don't know the infrared specifications of the Power Functions system, but it's now old enough to show his reliability.

Great video really looking forward to seeing the track in the new city. TrixBrix has really improved the Lego train world.

17:44 to avoid cable chaos under the table you might want to use plastic guarding rails under the table to store and route your cables. Wise electricians also mark all the cables as they all look the same. Have a look at the miniatur-Wunderland videos for inspiration 😊

Hello Robin,

I am pleased to see that you are also enthusiastic about the TrixBrix products. They bring so much more variation to the train theme. By the way I'm not a big fan of the illuminated signals, I'd prefer the shape of the old 12 volt signals, but hey, you have to take what you can get. 🤣

On the subject of level crossings: You said you'll have 4 or 5 level crossings in your new town, but you don't want to automate them because they'll be closed all the time anyway due to the long trains. But as far es I know you could also use the barriers without automating them and control them just with the remote switch panel. Wouldn't it be fun to have a level crossing to play with at least occasionally? Or maybe there is a way to install a small level crossing between your new train shed and the points there. And if it ultimately makes no sense as a level crossing, you could also use the barriers to restrict access to the port area, for example.
What I'm trying to say is, I'd love to see an electrified level crossing in your town. I'm a huge fan of level crossings, probably even more than trains. I have also designed motorized LEGO level crossings myself. If you want, you can check out my “little” channel, where I once made a video about it. 😁

Well, we'll see how you will decide in the end. In any case, it was a great idea to move your LEGO city to a larger space, even if I remember that Mrs. Hood wasn't enthusiastic about it back in the day.
Please keep up your good work, your channel is by far the best for me in the way you present it and I really look forward to every video. 👍

Greeting from Munich, Germany.

That looks like a fun Layout to play with. I'll have to get my hands on some of this TrixBrix track.

@Robinhood Bricks you need two more lights for the train signal light for the white train for when the bullet train to go and the white train to stop. If you have the wires under the table you could use wire tie downs like electric guys use on new houses for wires.

You’ve been very busy with your trains. and it looks like you have lots of fun eith it. Regarding your printed destinations, maybe your loyal and most gracious patreons would have their lego cities as one of the customized printed pieces… 😊

S curves tend to be a derailment issue, putting a straight piece between the curve and the zeppelin storage so that the zeppelin is straightened when it goes into the turnout might minimize the multitrack drifting issue.

Hey Robin! Great work on this video! It’s exciting to see so many trains running at once, and do many stored in view ready to go!

I think if you switch which track the Flying Nottsman and the Python are stored on (so the FN goes through the chicane and the Python goes straight) you’ll solve the problem of the python’s nose hitting the signal without needing to move the signal.

Great work as usual!

You could totally do a powergrid system in the city. Or run the cables outside the trainstation along the walls or make channels for them in the road. Like, under the road and above the baseplates. Would be neat to see big booms standing upright with the cables running along and above the trains.

I see the guy of the repair truck (set 3179) fixing some cable chaos, haha!
Nice work, by the way, as always!

Looks brilliant. Very excited to see it all integrated into the new city layout. Perhaps, TrixBrix’s will become another _-addiction-_ … I mean collection

Maybe the train shed can be near the mine since it has the smaller rail gauge on the side section. Maybe we can work the switch boxes into something on the table that would be easy to reach and near the trains so you don't have to reach much from turning the train on. Maybe sideways in a wall as part of advertisements they do have the indicator lights above the buttons? Maybe you could work the hit light into the build and have it at a bit of an angle with a repair crew. A suggestion for wire management for when it is run under the table, color code with tape or colored string or somehow label the runs of wires, it will save a headache later if you need to trouble shoot. I got a strip of 2 sided velcro for fastening and containing excess wire under my desk so that might work for you.
