I met Davy 2 weeks before he died. He was utterly delightful & we had a wonderful conversation -- he even sang a song to me. It's a memory I'll always cherish.

He had exactly 60 days left when this interview was held. Yes we never know what the future holds from one day to the next and really should try to value and embrace every minute of every day. Davy seemed to be a good example of a person who enjoyed life and tried to do just that. One of my favorite all-time rock performers. God bless him and may he continue to RIP.

I once played darts in our local with Davy. He lived just a few minutes away and used the local quite regularly. He was lovely, although he didn't talk like he's talking here, he reverted back to Mancunian. I can always tell when English entertainers have become Americanised by the way they say The Beatles. They don't pronounce the T as a T, but put a D in there.

Gentleman is what describes Davy Jones. He give credit to others and is incredibly humble. Very cool. I'm sad he's gone.

I was born in 1956. Still remember screaming at the lunch table at my job when a coworker told me Davy had just died. I immediately called my daughter and my cousin. His passing still makes me sad. Loved him!

I met Davy in the summer of '86 when the Monkees were doing a reunion tour. His limo pulled up and the back window rolled down and out came Davy's head and he said "Officer, which way to the stage entrance?" I walked him in and he signed my duty notebook and shook my hand. He was a very kind and fun loving guy.

Who would have ever thought Davy would not be around two months after this interview. He sounded and looked in great shape for his age, such a shock to fans.

He was one of those people who's singing voice was identical to his speaking voice.
You can totally hear Daydream Believer when he talks.

My God, he had only two months to live when he did this. It's true, you have to treat each day like it's your last.

I was glad i had gotten to know him. At one time, he lived about 30 minutes from me. I was going by his place and he was out cutting grass on a very hot day. I had to come to a stop right there.seeing him there standing, and beat looking, i yelled " looks like you could use a cold one!!" He simply replied, " oh hell yeah !!!!". I just got some, and held one out the window for him to take. He ran to my truck We ended up sitting on his porch, drinking a few more, and shooting the bull for about an hour and a half. And like they say, the rest is history. We became good friends because of that day. And yes, he did admire firemen. I told him i was a fireman at that time ( now i hung up my hèlmet . Learning this, you wojld have thought i was the famous one!!!! So, yes he highly admired firemen. RIP Davey my friend.
