Bigger plot twist is not including testing points on pcbs to measure critical signals. This is the correct way to measure things.

Another alternative are probe needles. They are pretty versatile and you can get sets with circular holders for an affordable price.

Acupuncture needles, crimp wires to them, cover with shrink wrap. If you want clamping bend the tip to a hook and slide heat shrink tube down to hold in place.

You can buy test clips that look a little like an IC extraction tool, which fastens to the top of the package and contacts all pins simultaneously, bring the pins out into a header on a 0.1inch pitch, where conventional test probes can be used.

Far easier.

Pogo sticks are brass not very sturdy. Use sewing needles, very hard steel, get those with gold plated eyelets, solder a wire to it, cover with shrink wrap 😊

As a deuteranopia color blind person, I did the same thing.
So I can't get mistaken for similar colors such red, brown, green, and orange on my project ever again :D

Those are difficult to insert without shorting if the power is on. I use wedge shaped piece of pcb with copper on one side.
