this is so cool! i don't know if you're from the pnw yourself, but here's some unsolicited advice from someone who's lived in WA for 15 years:
- feel free to put lots of ferns around the firs and pines, esp. in the most nw parts of the region it's really common to have massive ferns
- if you feel like doing so, making blackberries be the main spawning plant lying around the world would be a great touch, as picking them one of is many people's favorite things to do annually in the summer/fall, and they are native to the area
- the overwhelming majority of houses are made out of wood/siding as opposed to stone or brick (lumber industry woo)
in terms of dressing sims:
- flannels are still very common throughout the oregon-washington area, as are outdoorsy type clothes like puffer vests in the winter
- people tend to dress very casually, including wealthy people
- scandanavian last names are very common here, since this is where many people settled when they came to america (specifically norwegian and swedish ancestry)

Take or leave any of this, I'm super excited to see someone making a world that looks like my homestate! :)

San Myshuno remade with a Seattle or Portland vibe would be cool to see. With maybe Evergreen Harbor serving as the industrial parts of those cities, especially since it's inspired by cities along the Puget Sound (at least it gives me that impression, I'm not sure if it actually is.)
Can't forget Moonwood Mill being based off Forks.
Del Sol Valley and Strangerville would also be an interesting addition. The Eastern side of Washington and Oregon have an entirely different climates than the deep woods and stormy coastlines people usually dream of when the PNW is talked about.
As someone who has lived all up and down the Puget Sound for over 30 years, I'm excited for this and will definitely be following along.

Absolutely love seeing more simmers doing this. Honestly thank goodness for modders. I personally would not be able to play this game without any mods. With the T.O.O.L mod and Better Build Buy we really can let our imaginations go wild in this game. Anyway, just a word of advice regarding the backdrops, before placing them down, I scale them down and once they're on the lot I place them down and click on them once using the Tool mod. Unfortunately you can't see them being selected like other objects, but usually they do get selected once you click on it. Then I just use the scale option in Tool and alt click until it's out of the lot boundaries, that way it doesn't get deleted if you bulldoze the lot. I hope this makes sense. It took a while for me to get the hang of it, but once I did it became relatively easy. It definitely takes quite a bit of maneuvering. I can't wait to see how your save turns out!

8:22 you should do something like allow subscribers to send builds or sims with a hashtag in the gallery to use them to have a lot of diversity and lore
