Based on the Saturday Evening Post serial "Set Up For Murder" by Richard Stern, 12 Hours to Kill traces the problems of a young Greek national (Nico Minardos) who, after ogling a murder, is ushered off into the relative "safety" of suburban obscurity by the police, unaware that he is being double-crossed by a crooked gendarme.

Cool flick. Eddie Cahn sure knew how to make these tight crime thrillers as well as sci-fi & horror thriller too. Nico Minardos looks like a Greek Peter Lawford. And Barbara is boss! Ted & Gavin together and 10 years later found much fame & success on "The Mary Tyler Moore" show. Thanks for posting these rare gems.

Mystery, intrigue, and character development, without excessive violence. Great lil' film!

My father was a construction engineer with an American company working in Saudi Arabia from 1979-1985. I lived there from 2nd to 8th grade. The Greek man worked for ARAMCO!!!

A surprisingly great film. Much better than some reviews. Tense throughout the movie.

So good to see Ted Knight, the policeman at the desk, and Gavin MacLeod, Johnny, in this riveting film that is so exciting to watch. Knight and MacLeod would go on to work together on the Mary Tyler Moore Show in the 1970s.

Thank you for posting this classic! ❤

Great movie. I'm not much for gangster movies these days but this was something else, edge of your seat all the way. I love Barbara Eden, she's so beautiful and really a great actor. Wierd seeing Gavin McCloud so young, he makes a great bad guy here. Thanks so much, I loved it!

It's very refreshing to watch a movie that isn't about drugs. I find I watch the movies my dad grew up watching they put a lot more work and effort into some of these vintage movies then today's movies manufactured on computers.

This was a good part for her to play. Her forth credited film, and was married to Michael Ansara until 1974. She had not gotten out of the bottle on the beach, by Major Nelson, until 1965. And was Miss San Fransisco in 1951, what a babe...

Four years before this picture Barbara Eden had starred in a short-lived television sitcom: "How to Marry a Millionaire". One of her co-stars was the sweet Merry Anders, who would go on to participate in dozens of films like this one becoming a sort of cult actress of "B" movies. (some could be considered "C" movies). Poor Merry, she was never able to escape this destiny. Barbara had to wait a few years to have her big break as Geanie but her talent didn´t go unnoticed and she had a great career. She´s an excellent singer too.
As for Nico Minardos, in 1955 he divorced his first wife, Deborah Minardos, who subsequently married Tyrone Power and became his widow just a few months later.
Nothing vital in these comments but who cares?
