There will be no worship or holy baths at the well near the Shahi Jama Masjid in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district as the Supreme Court on Friday stayed the execution of a ‘notice’ purportedly issued by local municipal authorities regarding the well and sought a status report in two weeks. The notice was stayed even as the UP government contended that the well was situated on government land.
