This Episode of Lost Changed the WHOLE Series

For some, Lost is seen as one of the greatest shows ever put on television. A truly ground breaking, survivalist drama that changed the way we think about hour long TV Drama's. For others, the longer the show went on the more questions they had, with zero answers. But throughout the entire run of Lost, one episode stands out as truly game changing. Introducing new ways of story telling, while continuing the concept of JJ Abram's Mystery Box, gave audiences a continued sense of intrigue while expanding the world even more.

"Not Penny's boat" literally made me cry, followed by "We have to go back!" Blowing my mind. Possibly the best episode of TV ever

One of the best episodes for me is the season 2 finale. The buttons not being pressed and Locke saying “I was wrong” was too damn good.

I never understood why some people just don’t like this show. Easily the greatest show i’ve ever watched.

Love it or hate it, LOST had some of THE BEST writing in television history, especially up until that point.

One of my favourite moments in Lost was season 2 when Sayid put the driving licence of Henry Gayle down on the table in front of Ben. The build up was great, it sounded like the story checked out, the balloon, the grave, everything. Then out of nowhere came the reveal, Amazing!!!

I feel like 90% of people who made remarks about how the show should've ended at Season 1 are people who never actually bothered watching the show and are just parroting what they've heard

While this episode is brilliant, I also love how the twist at the end of “Walkabout” in season one was executed. Probably my favourite single scene in the series

The very best episode hands down was 'The Constant' in Season 4. This was very cleverly written and the episode had everything in it with some carefully thought out science fiction and a very satisfying and emotional ending - GENIUS!! Possibly the best TV episode of all time, not just in 'Lost'.

Ben: what makes you think you know this island better than me John?
John Locke: because you’re in the wheelchair, and I’m not.

I remember when these episodes premiered. My family used to throw “lost” parties, where they’d invite friends over. We watched the end of that episode, and I remember my 15 year old mouth muttering “what the fuck” while everybody in the room said it out loud as well.

I must confess, never seen the show when it was on; just binged 6 seasons with the missus on Disney - Wow, spectacular series, I now know why people were so into it when it was on. That finale had the tears running, 10/10 for Lost, would recommend to anyone.

I’m still so mad at the way that they killed Danielle Rousseau the French lady, she was awesome!

I screamed (and cried . . . and both combined) FREQUENTLY throughout the series. I’ve never been so emotionally and intellectually involved in a show, and put in effort in my free time to read theories and take part in discussions. LOST was an *experience*.

Unfortunately that experience cannot be replicated now that the show is over. Sure, new viewers can binge it, but the previous, wider, wide-eyed discussion around it and all the excitement and speculation, bafflement at total WTELF moments, shared grief at heartbreaking losses, the type of teamwork put into filling in things the Crash Door Map, and essentially the obsessive attention to every detail and pressing search for meaning, all happening alongside the unfolding of the show, made it a multimedia, social phenomenon like nothing I’ve seen before or since.

It was an addictive ride of tensions, release, tension, tension, misdirection, and bam! “Not Penny’s boat!”

Brilliant.

I don’t think we’ll ever have something touch the cultural zeitgeist *that way* again.

Sadly, if you missed out, you can’t recapture it, but if you were there . . . you know. See you in a anutha life, brutha.

I watched the famous “We have to go back!” episode with my husband and two friends. My husband noted the Razr phone because he’s a phone guy, and I genuinely screamed “THIS IS A FLASH FORWARD!” And we were all screaming and disturbing the cats. And the neighbors, but hey, they should’ve been watching LOST too.

So many of these actors are so recognizable today. First few seasons of Lost was awesome.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned since I'm a little late. The funeral place where Locke is buried, 'Hoff's-Drawler', is an anagram of Flash Forward. Pretty cool.

I have to say lost I watched it in 2012 and I rewatched it again, this year and I can’t say how amazing and awesome this show really is due to its horror and drama, and the character development in this is so awesome and outstanding.

Never clicked on a Nerdstalgic video faster than for an episode on the greatest TV show of all time.
