The only thing prohibited by Matthew 6:7 is VAIN repetition. If Christ was against simple repetitive prayer he'd probably have a problem with Psalm 136 which repetitively say "for his mercy endures forever". Also the angels in heaven pray day and night without ceasing the same prayer (Revelation 4:8).

Don't be ignorant. Be better.

That “Hail Mary rosary” prayer chant is what nightmares are made of. 😬

I noticed the ESV I purchased that there is a lot of misinformation or things completely taken out.. matthew 17:21 verse is literally skipped; it goes from 17:20 and then jumps to 17:22 (ESV)! They took out fasting in correlation with prayer! ALSO, in mark 9:29 it says “this kind can only be driven out by prayer”(ESV)Which is completely different from my King James Version that says “only this kind can only be taken out through prayer AND FASTING” in mark 9:29. Yall.. fasting is taken out for a reason because it brings you closer to Jesus as long as you do it from your heart. I just noticed as writing this comment that matthew 17:21 is literally skipped in the ESV.. I was blown away when I saw they took the word fasting out in Mark, but I’m even more convinced that fasting is SO important now that I saw that specific verse is completely skipped in Matthew🤯 ESV is so misleading but I’m also glad I bought it so I can compare and see what is trying to be hidden. Wow. Use discernment brothers and sisters🙏🩷God bless and thank you for this video.. sorry my comment was so off topic

I think as as brought up in catholicism is that the value is in the number of times the prayer is recited. When I was 14, a church attending catholic I ceased saying the Hail Mary because I thought I’d cut to the chase and go to the top being God not knowing the verse “Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭6‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬ I see the Lord’s Prayer as a template a guide for the order of prayer, what is to be addressed/ acknowledged first ie Gods holy name, Gods holy purpose, our needs, what we need to know and protection

John 17:15
I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

1 John 5:18
We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

The rosary is contemplative prayer. Behind the hail Marys is a meditation about the life Jesus. And did you know that the rosary is of a divine origin, that was given by heaven to combat heresy? Ie catharism & albigensianism. There's such a rich history behind the devotion. Y'all Protestants, I implore you to do your homework! And when you're ready, there's plenty of room on the ship for you ❤

another protestant who cannot understand the difference between VAIN repetitions and repetitions. Considering the Hail Mary is quoting directly from scripture I hope you would not consider that vain

Wow thank you for bringing this to light!

I always worried that my prayers violated that verse because I'm often asking for the same things, safety of my family and that they find Jesus. I thought it was vain repetition! But now I see vain repetition is more like a chanting 'ritual' and not like prayer at all.

I was just talking to my mom about this! How Paul said to pray without ceasing, but also Matthew says not to use vain repetition. I thought it was contradictory to each other and it had me puzzled but now I get they're completely different. One is taking about praying to God for everything and being thankful for everything and the other is a warning not to fall into these pagan rituals of chanting meaningless sentences

But in revelation 4:8 it says the angels say the same prayer day and night?
