I've been plat mining all day in a fully decked out Anaconda. Advertising this as 150m a hour is the biggest clickbait lie I've seen in a while. 60-80m is much more reasonable, which is still a solid chunk of money and worth the time imo. You'd have to get 60% plat in every asteroid right next to each other to net 150m in that amount of time.

Well, i really do not understand why mining is so nerfed now. I am able to easily find loops for shipping cargo in a circle with only two stations, with one jump, to gain 90MLN with no problem, and with a better luck searching up to 120MLN/h. You only need T9 or CUTTER and 784-792 cargo

YES - that is fu**g boring, but its way more efficient, then mining.

Sometimes the ore is coming off at the laser furthest out, making the limpets travel further, to remedy that I retract my hard points and then deploy them again, this will change where the ore comes out, right under the nose of the ship. I don't know if anyone else has experienced that, hope this tip helps.

exactly the video i was looking for thank you. Short and focusing on questions i was interested in.
I was mining in ED last time two years ago. Now as i became bored i thought to come back to it this time with a cutter (instead of python). Back then everyone was mining LTD or painite. Now i have noticed the prices on those dropped significantly and i wondered what people are mining these days and how much you can earn with a cutter. Now you say abuot 150m and QuantumVoid stated its more likely 60-80m. Now this realy scared me off. See, im doing bounty hunting mostly. Making 300-600m per hour and 1, 5b per session of two or three hours. I was asuming minging with a cutter would come somewhere close to this, but now i know better. Thanks anyway, at least you saved me from being disappointed.

There's no way in the world that you'd make 150mil per hr mining platinum with that method and that load-out. Before making such a video, you should have consulted some guys that actually know how to do it. You have the wrong lasers, wrong limpet controller, waste of time and efficiency weapons, and you're mining in the wrong place. Your general advice on how to mine wasn't bad at all. I reckon that with what you had, where you were and how you did it, you might get around 80 mil per hr when you include the time to travel and sell, even to your fleet carrier. You need 7 lasers, 13 collectors and a weapons-focused PD to go past 100 mil per hr with your method. 200 mil per hr is possible, but not with that build, method or place.

You could also could map mining, using otherpeople maps, or making your own.
NB: Legacy maps don't work in Odyssey.

If you manage to fly into the same spot, and fly the same direction/route you would meet the same asteroids with the same contets. So you could premap best asteroids to mine.

I've been doing some research to get into the mining game a little bit and I keep seeing they nerfed the overlapping hotspots now so they don't have any effect?

I don't know about anyone else, but i am never able to achieve these numbers. Considering that i am in the rings for an hour or two just to fill up a cargo hold of 256, and the sell price for all that is usually less than 70 million at best. Would someone tell me anything i am doing wrong?

I'm mining in HR5814. I've been finding shitty percentage platinum asteroids in the middle of a platinum hotspot. Plus most of the rocks have more than one masterial. I find platinum only rocks like 1/10 of the time. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or is this normal for mining these days? I miss the Borann ltd mining
