In this animated feature, a deadly diphtheria epidemic strikes the remote town of Nome, Alaska. With the life-saving medicine located hundreds of miles away, the residents decide to send out a sled-dog team. Balto (Kevin Bacon) -- a half-wolf dog ignored by all except a goose, Boris (Bob Hoskins), two polar bears -- and beautiful husky Jenna (Bridget Fonda) is chosen to run but is disqualified by lead dog Steele (Jim Cummings). When the other dogs get lost in the snow, Balto risks his life to rescue them and deliver the medicine. #BALTO

Although it's meant to be serious that Boris tries to stop Balto from unleashing his wolf-side and attack Steele and the others, I just can't keep a straight face as he desperately drags Balto's tail.

Boris is a far too funny character for me to not laugh or at least get a smile on my face whenever he's on screen. Only times I've managed to keep a straight face, is when he gives Balto advice that his wolf heritage is a strength and when he, along with Muk and Luk believes Balto is dead

Did anyone notice the manner in which Steele's 'friends' spoke about him the very second he left???😉 As soon as he left their presence they immediately changed their tune from their false praise to criticism. They actually don't like steele! Steele doesn't truly have any friends, not really! He's so obnoxious🤣

Balto is one of my favorite movies and the part where balto was teased by Steele and the other dogs is one of my favorite parts in the movie even when he tried to help Steele and the team

I just want to make clear some moments in the film:

1. People believe that "Steele mocks on Balto, 'cause Balto is half-wolf, 'cause Balto is different, and Steele is arrogant". NO IT' NOT. Steele mocked on Balto 'cause of envy — 'cause Balto is faster than Steele, and 'cause Jenna likes Balto and hates Steele. Steele felt in Balto the rival, who is better than him and is attractive for Jenna. That's it. That's why Steele started to tease Balto. He's a sadist, who found Balto's weakness — that people don't trust Balto 'cause of his wolf heritage, and that Balto himself denies his wolf half, so Steele could use this against Balto. That's it. Steele doesn't hate wolves or half-breeds, he just tries to get rid of the rival. If Balto was a full-blood dog, Steele still would find the way to mock on him.

2. People for some reason think that Steele's teasing somehow implies "Balto's mom is a wolf" thing and use this moment as a smoking gun or whatever. I never understood, why they think so. There's absolutely NO indications for this. Steele and gang mocked only on Balto, the context of scene is "Hey, Balto, you're half-wolf! You should know the wolf language! Translate for us some messages!". That's it, nothing more. Steele knew nothing about Balto, he knew only that Balto is a half-wolf. Plus, the director of the original film even stated that Balto's dad was a wolf, so Steele's teasing actually has a traits of dirty joke ("Your mommy's tastes run toward the wild animal!" or whatever).

Here I am wondering as an adult how Balto was in anyway intimidated by Steele. Most wolf dogs are more powerful than normal dogs and despite Steele probably being more well fed than Balto, I can’t imagine a well fed Malamute would be a match for a half wolf, half husky.
