Tungnath Chandrashila Trek | Deoria Tal Trek

I had heard a lot about Chandrashila and Devariya Tal, but could never visit until this year, when we finally got a long weekend and just thought to go for a trek. The journey was full of ups and downs, to be honest. First thing first, if you are also planning to trek, you need to know that properties in Chopta are really basic and unhygienic in some of the places. Rooms divided with a thin tin sheet, lack of water and dirty beds, make Chopta not a very comfortable place to stay. We stayed here for a night, trekked to Tungnath and Chandrashila and went to Sari Village the very next morning. The trek is tiring, firstly because it’s steep at some points but mainly because the paths are well built, leaving no tree sheds. So, if you are starting you trek in the day time, apply a thick layer of sunscreen, and carry a lot of water & chocolates if possible. It took us almost 4 hours to reach Chardrashila, as we were taking frequent breaks to shoot videos.
On the next day, we left for Sari Village, which is hardly 25 minutes of drive from Chopta, from here, Deoriatal trek starts. This is steeper than Tungnath trek, so for 2.5KM trek, it took us good 2 hours. There are many places to stay on the way, but I would suggest wait till the end and opt for the property closest to the lake. There are hardly any network that you get there, so you’d want to spend most of the time near to the lake enjoying the magnificent views in the background and listening to the gushing winds. Come what may, do not miss mornings here. Do visit and let me know your experiences. If you have any query regarding the place, just post your questions in the comment section.
PS: PLEASE KEEP MOUNTAINS CLEAN, AND NOT TREAT THEM LIKE CITIES.
