if you know you can't read the mini-map, why didn't you make the block option default?

It's like minimap designers have never played a good video game.
I just want it to mark points of interest relevant to my context.
If i'm in a function|variable highlight all locations its referenced. Show me where the matching bracket is if it's off the page.
Mark todos and other annotations.
Show where returns, breaks, or debugger|print statements are etc.

Or you could just have the offending block of code highlighted instead of a tiny squiggle / unreadable mini map. Feel like that would make it far harder to miss.

You definitely need this if you're working on at least 500 lines of code per file. Either that or you haven't worked on a large project, and you don't need it.

It's supposed to give an overview. You need almost the complete shape of the code to get any perspective.
As shown here it's worse than looking at the code alone.
