A common virus that usually starts around late fall is peaking now and will last through the spring. It's called respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV. As CBS2's Dr. Max Gomez reports, it can look like a common cold but it can be deadly, especially in infants.

My daughter was 8 months old. I took her to the hospital and they sent her home with common cold. The next night back at hospital. A nose swob was only way to detect RSV. 2 Weeks in the hospital plus it produced the H Flue in her blood. Parents be awhere. March-October in California RSV season
