I remember seeing Bent Live as an opener for Haken and Leprous back in 2018 and while I enjoyed the show at the time, I wasn't impressed enough to check them out further. I might check out this release and some of the other ones you mentioned liking, I may have been a bit too quick to not give this band a chance.

Love their entire studio discography, and that includes Frosting. What makes them interesting is they are so different and original sounding.

Haven't finished the video yet, but I wanted to note that Jessica played bass, not violin. Chris, who is still in the band, plays violin (though I've also seen him play guitar and keyboards on their recent tour, ) so there's that, for what it's worth.

I was really worried when I heard Ben Levin left the band, but this album is surprisingly alright.

For what I hear in the sound, Frosting sounded like a Ben Levin + Jessica stuff, instead of Ben Levin + band.. because I can see many aspects of Jéssica sound in the álbum. If you listen to her YouTube songs, its so familiar...

And while I dont mind that hyperpoppy sound, in Frosting most of the time It sounds bland and meandering... Maybe the band wasnt too keen to work with that kind of sound.

Sometimes I find this new album beautiful but without the tight songwriting of of Land Animal or Shiny Eyed Babies. But at least is a lot better knit than Frosting. All in All, its as good as You Know What They Mean
