Unboxing a Northern Blue Tongue Skink

Показать описание
In this video, you'll see me pick out a northern blue tongue skink, then unbox it, and then see the skink living life in its new home.
I am choosing not to provide uvb for my skink at this time. I will definitely provide it in the future when I have done some more research on uvb lighting. But for now I know my skink will be okay without it. Because many skinks have lived long healthy lives without uvb. (I am supplementing calcium with D3 on his food every week and reptivite once a month)
I know that typically it's best to feed skinks, that are under a year old, wet cat food due to cat food having more protein, (and the dog food I got was going to be for when the skink was older) but this breeder said "Wet dog food alone was offered until around their first shed then I add pureed dark greens or other veggies from then on. After a few weeks I discontinue wet dog food for a more adult diet of cooked ground turkey or cooked ground hamburger (hormone free when possible) or cooked chicken breast, whole eggs, scrambled or lightly cooked."
So because of that information, I went ahead and fed dog food to by skink, instead of getting cat food, since it is something that he has already eaten. And I do make sure to add more protein than anything. But I do add veggies and greens with every dog food meal because those are going to contain D3, which my skinks needs, especially since I am not yet providing uvb. I also feed him repashy bluey buffet. And I am planning on getting some other types of dog food.
