PC security is a never ending battle. Any tips, suggestions, info and or solutions to these issues are always appreciated.
Thanks Brian. 👍

OMG! This is so confusing to me. I wish I knew more about how to fix these problems. Thank you for sharing.

This entire procedure is too involved and difficult to employ. Think folks will even understand where these "nasties" are located or what they are? It's really nuts!

Avast, Malwarebytes, & Super Anti-Spyware are my 3 favorites for this scenario. Super AS seems to get things the first 2 seem to miss a lot. Especially those sneaky little spy cookies.

Hello Brain, would you mind doing a video where you use Wireshark to hunt malware or spyware?!

Backing up your data after or whilst you're dealing with a malware infection is risky in and of itself. As any malware worth its weight in salt would also poison any data that is likely to be backed up.

Eventlogs. Thats the most definitive way. But you should always enable for maximum logging

We can also use microsoft's tcpview application to simplify this process.

I keep Task Manger and Resource Monitor opened on the taskbar at all times. Also Networx or similar, so I can visually see net traffic, and spot large downloads or uploads I haven't requested. Lots of programs start updates when you want to prioritise a download, so Resource Monitor is good for suspending those. It's well to click at the top of each column of TM and RM, to see which part is having most activity and from which processes.

How do you differentiate what is a nasty connection vs a regular proper connection is? Or are we not supposed to have any foreign IP addresses listed?

the windows protection is good the bigest trheat to you computer is you so no matter what antivrus you have you can still be infected so the best soulution is be careful on what you are doing on the internet

Here's another sign: You open your emails and discover there are ads ...ads and even more ads, daily. These ads are not only in your big window (for lack of a better term), but when you store your SAVED emails in category's, they too are being pilfered by microsoft. In short, if you have stored baby pictures, emails from private people, your saved emails are filled from top to bottom by microsoft and their so much for privacy.

Yes Brian I do enjoy this sort of video albeit a little beyond my expertise. Now it is generally thought or said that it is not a good idea to run more then one security suite on the same machine and as I have ESET Smart Security setup on my machines is it ok to run say SuperAntiSpyware or MBAM as one off runs?

Thank you, @Britec! Great video again.

I was wondering what your thoughts are on Malwarebytes Premium. I have it on my desktop PC and two laptops. Have had it for many years now and (knock on wood) never got infected once.

Anyhoo, like I mentioned, curious to your thoughts about Malwarebytes Premium.

Keep up the good work! ✨
