Beauty is a booming industry with more and more products coming onto the shelves every day. But how sustainable is it? Beauty has come under nowhere near as much scrutiny as food or fashion but there are rumblings of conversations about everything from packaging to chemicals.

70% of the waste in beauty comes from packaging and plastic use and recycling in the beauty industry is a massive issue. Mainly because most of the products come in plastic and people aren’t very good at recycling them. There are lots of other issues like chemicals, huge water use and a lack of transparency.

This is why I really love many LUSH products, I can look up all the ingredients and check exactly what's in it, even find information about the synthetic ingredients. They're also transparent about ingredients that some people may want to completely exclude, for ethical reasons, because they're Vegan etc.

Cool video! I didn´t know the difference between cruelty free and vegan. I´m shocked!
And what about make up? Let´s say mascara. I need to replace mine and I have no idea of where to find a vegan and more sustainable option :S
