Shred the plastic into pellets, use it for 3-D printing and making new plastic things. There is no reason not to recycle it.

If the plastic gets burnt, would it get rid of the microplastics? Would the CO2 of that many plastics be harmful greenhouse gas or... idk?

Governments could help more by mandating that all consumer packaging must be compostable but oil lobby money is too powerful to allow this to happen unfortunately.
