Using cash at these big warehouse stores is the key to staying on budget, in my opinion. We have a membership at Costco, and when I go there, I’m there for a few specific items, and that’s it. I love how you demonstrate restraint in order to do what is best financially for your family. Very motivational!

You did great! I can't resist walking down each aisle "just to see what they might have on sale". I get in trouble every time! LOL Good thing I don't go that often. One new thing at my Sam's ... while waiting for the rotisserie chickens, I noticed in the ready-to-heat and eat section they had them already quartered in an aluminum pan so that you could just put it in the oven for a few minutes (I like it cold, too). AND it was only $3, 98 instead of $4.98! So already cut up and $1 cheaper? Yes! One package had 5 quarters in it, so I grabbed it.

I've bought the chicken sausages a couple of times. They are good. They have a LITTLE kick. I can't handle spicy and these are okay to me. Easy and quick breakfast. I'm low-carb so these really work for me. I try to do chicken and turkey as much as possible. They have some chicken, bacon, cheese patties that are very good at Sam's.

Those La Banderita low carb shells are the best! My Sams only sells the low carb Mission brand which are good. But I have to go to Walmart for the LaBanderita. They really taste like the real thing!

Yeah things like salsa and spaghetti sauce are hard to get opinions on because everyone likes it different. I prefer it either way but like my cousin doesn't like big chunks of anything so he prefers the smooth salsa.

We didn’t like the salsa either, we instantly threw it away, which sucks because we always try to repurpose but it was just that bad!

No Sam’s Club in Alaska. Only Costco. There was a new one just north of Anchorage but it closed a few years ago. 😢

I am always afraid to try the big containers of salsa and such...I got the white cheese sauce that everyone loves...not a fan!! Great job staying under budget. Nice haul.

It’s hard to stay on budget when you have to buy dog food! So expensive!! I hope the water melon is yummy! I can’t remember the last time I got a good one…

If you don’t like the salsa, you can blend it with more diced tomatoes and use in tacos, enchilada or salsa sloppy joes. Sorry it wasn’t a favorite. We haven’t tried that one.
