Himeno is ultimately a normal human being in a really messed up job trying to experience as most pleasure before her death. Even if it's unhealthy. I can understand most people not liking her but she's the definition of living each day like it's your last.

Kensuke Ushio's soundtrack here is something else. It's not grand or overwhelmingly emotional. Instead it just feels soft and fragile, like a light's gentle warmth just before it's snuffed out.

Imagine what Aki must have felt when he realized his friend/mentor gave her life to save a guy who only had 2 years left to live. It just added insult to injury when Aki read Himeno's letters and learned if he gave the prospect of leaving public safety more thought himeno would still be alive and her family wouldn't be grieving which to him is much worse than any slap that could have happened.

she desperately tried to save aki by getting him out of the job, the job that kills people, humans...it is just sad how things ended up, himeno died and aki has not many years to live because of his contracts...
it's a situation where as a viewer i cannot see the light in the darkness, that happy ending that both of those characters deserve..
Himeno's sacrifice and her death will forever be remembered by aki until the day he dies...

Aki can cry. Devil hunters already used to deaths that they will stop crying. But Aki cries very often. When his newbies died he will hide and cry. It must be really good to have someone cry for you.
