Fun fact, the shiny side reflects heat radiation so if you’re wrapping something in foil that needs to stay warm put the shiny side in and if you need something to stay cold put the shiny side out

Hey Pam! I agree I like the shiny side up. Now I have a tip for you! But you may already know this, others may not.
On the end of any aluminum foil box, brand name 😊 generic, it has a round circle that reads PRESS HERE TO LOCK ROLL.
In my 40 yrs of cooking I never noticed this. Neither had my 86 yr old mother.
Thank you Pam for sharing your tips. I just wanted people to know that you won't ever drop your roll of foil again. Once foil unrolls it's never quite the same.

As always Pam I learned something new watching your videos. I was taught (a lifetime ago) that use the dull side up to reduce and even out heat and shiney side up would increase the heat. That was back in the 70's. Thanks for sharing.

the shiny side will reflect . it will bounce the heat off while the dull side will draw the heat in.

The dull side is actually a little stickier, that's why they put the non-stick coating on that side (so the coating sticks to the foil)
So when you wrap something, put the shiny side up and the food on top, if you cover a dish, put the shiny side down.
