This is maybe the most emotional scene for me involving Gloria.
My mom is from Puerto Rico and I remember my little brother making fun of her accent when we were kids. She must have been so hurt. She never gave up on us tho and she would always sit down and make sure I have my homework done. ❤❤❤

I know I'm talking about Sofía Vergara and not Gloria Pritchett, but I can actually say that she really is clever and assertive in Spanish, quick-witted and fun.

Many English speakers seem to take people with heavy accents as less intelligent, and prefer to ignore the true mark of intelligence when it comes to speaking a second language: fluency.
A heavy accent can just mean that the person learned the language late in life, or just maybe doesn't have a good ear for it.

Wow im not even Hispanic person but I can relate as a non-native english speaker, when i type or write I can have time to think for words, but when I speak I keep stuttering and repeating the same lines I said cause my language's grammar is exactly opposite to English🤦‍♀️ I'm from S.K.🇰🇷😂 loved this❤

This a seriously under appreciated scene in television. Its a very powerful statement that most dont get. I only speak english but thats why i can only imagine dealing with this type of frustration. Its why i go outve my way to give credit to ppl whom english is not a first language because so many dont get credit for how well they speak it since so many they speak to expect it
