What’s ironic is that initially, Lelouch wanted to destroy Brittania while Suzaku wanted to change it from within. In the end, Lelouch was the one who changed it from within by becoming the focal point for all of the hatred, and Suzaku was the one who “destroyed” Brittania by killing Lelouch.

No character can compare to his highness Lelouch. I believe he used his geass on me commanding me to rewatch the series at least once a year!

This anime hurt me so much. I've watched Code Geass through to the end three times, and every time I get to this scene in the final episode, I cry. Because Lelouch's sacrifice makes so much sense and is the only path left to possibly end this, but it's so unfair. Why should he have to die when he only ever wanted a better world for him and his sister? Why is he the only one with enough selfnessness to see that this is the only way to put an end to this war? Lelouch wasn't a good person by any means, but in this moment, he didn't deserve to die. This is one of the biggest tragedies in anime and I will forever remember Lelouch vi Britannia for this moment.

*Spoilers Ahead* 

The very first moment I thought about watching this anime, the very first moment I wrote "Code Geass" on google, I saw that Lelouch dies at the end, a little bit later when I started R2, I saw that Suzaku will kill Lelouch, I was so downed till the end knowing the fact that my favourite anime character of all time will be killed by my most hated anime character, but even though I saw such MAJOR spoilers this anime still made it, I cried rivers at the ending and was satisfied at the same time.
I've never been so delighted by any ending of any movie, anime, game, book etc. Code Geass, I'll always remember you... *ALL HAIL EMPEROR LELOUCH*

I didn't know what theme this was so I clicked on it. And since it's been so long since I watched Code Geass, when I heard those first three notes I got goosebumbs.
