Another vote for Part 2. All the stuff about the patents, money, designs, and personalities is interesting because no one in the drum business every talks about how it really works.

Thanks!!! This was Gold I'm a lefty and way back in 84 I got an original lefty Double pedal, and because of the way it was engineered I was able to move the Spring on the slave pedal over to the main pedal without removing itI just unhooked it and stretched it across when the main spring broke! I saw Tony Williams in the summer of 82 at a theater in Cleveland they were on a revolving stage! I could see He was playing a chain drive pedal so I immediately went out and got an original DW500 which I still have! God Bless you Both. Looking foreword to Pt2.

My favorite improvisational drummer and my favorite drum industry leader/mover/shaker — and Terry gives a GREAT interview; stays out of the way but interjects with substantial knowledge with the right timing. I found this enthralling. I still have my old Gretsch Floating Action King Drive petal from the 1970s modified by the “Pro Shop”’NYC Which I bought from my teacher, so I’m 58 and these were just becoming available. I actually keep it in my car as my gig emergency spare — and it still works beautifully… I should probably preserve it and put it on display as a museum piece. Unquestionably, DW turn drive pedals are the greatest bass drum pedal ever. The TW 9000 is the gold standard of all paddles going forward, it’s feels like stepping on a cloud and the adjustability is innovative and deeply practical

You really need to do a part two that goes into the massive growth of DW, the evolution of what would become some of the best musical instruments on the planet and the eventual ubiquitous nature of the company when it seemed like everyone was playing DW drums and pedals. Quite the American success story.

I had the leather Camco. Great history.

Is it just me, or is Terry starting to look like Ed O’Neil? 🤣

Very interesting, but too short! How about parts 2, 3, etc...?

Ever play a really elaborate complex drum kit? Eh, Terry? I remember Billy Higgins playing with Sonny Rollins on the most stripped down kit possible. He was magnificent!

So, Don is the 'Other Half' of DW, is this correct? Along with John Good?... Why am i trying to recall this? but i'm pretty sure this is right; Did he 'bow out'...or 'Sell' his half...to John, or something...because why am i also sensing, he's no longer an 'Interest', in the Company? ...Or....He Bowed out and Sold, but....get's an Annuity or something, a 'Piece'...from here on out?...Someone with the Story...please elaborate! Thank you!
