“You got 1m words this year”
“How much has my sibling got?”
“0”
“Thank god that rat has 0 words”

This literally would’ve been easily solved by just giving half instead of all

The thing that gets me in AUs like this is that since having a limit on your words is a universal thing, society would have evolved so that sign language (or any kind of non-verbal communication) would be a normal part of life.

Surely if it's 1 million+, she'd still have more words left after transferring?

I can be honest my Sister would get some but not the bulk of my words! You can't shout if there is an emergency. Our House literally blew up with us inside. If I could not have communicated with my husband I think it might not have turned out as good as it did. yes all 3 of us got hurt, but all 3 of us got out and survived. This is completely true. I want to write a book about it.

This reminds me of when I was in school. I had a disorder where I got so socially anxious that I couldn’t physically speak. So, my classmates that I grew up with would just talk for me when a teacher or substitute called out role. “She doesn’t talk.”

*Okay, I just remembered something else. Story time!*

When I was around 8 years old, my mom would take my sister and I to work with her (during the summer). It was a daycare. My sister and I were separated from our mom, and we were put with the kids closest to our age.

I was comfortable with talking to the kids, but not the two teachers taking care of the kids. The two teachers didn’t like that, though. Basically, they told me to stand up and go over to them, and they then scolded me for not talking. I was sobbing, in front of everyone, because they hadn’t the decency to even scold me outside. So, yeah, my sister saw the whole thing happen.

My mom came to the classroom we were in, as we were about to leave. We got in the car, we drove away from the daycare. Then, my sister explained what happened. My mom hit the brakes and turned the car around. We drove back to that daycare. She was furious!

She quit her job. That was the last straw, man! Because you wanna know what else those people at that daycare did?

My mom was pregnant at the time she worked there. Once, she tripped and fell. While she was pregnant! They didn’t check if she was okay. Instead, they rewatched it a bunch of times on the cameras and laughed!

People these days, tsk tsk tsk
