Just a list of lies Boris Johnson has told

At the end of last year Boris Johnson stood up in parliament to tell the public that he had been reassured there were no parties in Downing Street.

Today, the Met Police has issued 20 fines for parties held in Downing Street.

He’s lying to you.

you missed when he said in parliament that crime was down 14% and it was actually up and when he said employment was up and ofc it was down, in fact the leader of the civil service dept that checks stats used in parliamentary debate was on the radio recently and stated the he has written to Johnson several times asking him to correct his "Accidental misleading of parliament " of course Johnson hasn't even acknowledged the letter so as far as i can see he is deliberately lying to parliament on this too . as a journalist you could look into this more ?

What can anyone say? This sort of stuff has been so utterly dominant for so long now in British politics that it should come as no surprise - but it's hard to see how any government in the last 200 years in the UK has been so disregarding of truth, so contemptuous towards its own electorate, so corrupt, so utterly lacking in scruples or decency, so disingenuous... and yet 'we' keep voting them in, time after time after time, because simlple emotive topics like 'BRITAIN' and 'HARD WORKIGN PARENTS' etc., plus general dumbed-down rhetoric remains the order of the day and people still lap up easy to digest jingoistic twaddle and fall for exactly the traps and tricks that are played - in no small part thanks to those increasingly non-journalistic tabloids and so on. I would say one day it will change, that people will vote them out - but unless we ever get back to an age where accountability, decency, rigour, nuance, resposnsibility, an actual intent to do what is best for the most - well, it won't happen, will it. The worst thing is that they are propped up by, in many instances, those who they do the most relative harm to.
