How Does a Lenz Apparatus Demonstrate Eddy Current Braking?

You can see the eddy current braking effect in action when a magnetized cylinder is placed inside of a Lenz apparatus. The cylinder falls through the copper tube much more slowly than a nonmagnetized cylinder does. Find out more in this video, where we take a closer look at magnetic fields and eddy current braking.

Your Lorentz force vector is not correct. The Lorentz force vector needs to be greater than the gravitational force vector because that is how the magnet slows down. Then as the speed of the magnet slows down the Lorentz force decreases until it is equal with gravity. In your simulation you have it backwards. You say that the Lorentz force vector increases until it equals gravity, which is incorrect. 0:34 In addition the velocity vector is wrong too. You show the velocity increasing to a constant value, but it is the opposite. The velocity vector starts large when it enters the pipe and then decreases to a constant value, hence the slowing down.
