A replay of data acquired from the Simrad SN90 sonar in a forward-looking trawling configuration. Larger fish show as streaks of contacts among multiple pings, presented on the 3 inspection beams. These data were acquired off the coast of Washington near Grays Canyon, during the Pacific Whiting (hake) fishery. At this point in the fishery, catch rates among the rest of the fleet were quite low, with other vessels going all the way to the California border to find fish. Our vessel, with SN90, found fish right outside of "town" and filled the boat 2 days faster than the other vessels around her. I start going through menus and color schemes around 4:35 into the video.
