These ones were made by the french, because the armies supplier had issues or they were in the process of switching suppliers or something like that, but needed a bunch of cold weather rations for natos "cold response" exercise. Thats why you find alot of these in circulation, they were only made for and only used in that one exercise.

NATO made a belated movement towards standardizing English as the common language within and among the organization members. This is why we're starting to see English on the MREs of non-English-speaking NATO countries. It made sense to do this and should have been done a long time ago. The United States, United Kingdom, and Canada were among the founding members of NATO, the most militarily powerful, having been the victors of World War II. I think it was politics and national sensitivities that precluded English being made the common language at the beginning when NATO was much smaller and needed the voluntary cooperation of all of its members.
The original West German Einmannpackung box MREs did not have English subtitles on the ration components. It would have been useful. You see it now on this German MRE, an excellent idea. NATO member have come to accept that other NATO military personnel might have to dine on their MRE rations. Having everyone understand English to some extent makes that easier.

Watching this back to back with the Latvian taster. The Germans probably would eat the pate/ Paste with the savoury biscuits. Dates are a high energy fruit so are great for a quick boost. So funny watching you have more of the pate to get rid of the taste of that rice dish. Glad that you liked the sausages and lentils. Lentils are a better source of protein than wholegrain rice, . another good video.

Dan, I bought my first tent and sleep system and have a camp planned, it’s at a site not wild one to do things right, but it’s down to channels like yours, legit genuine content, no fluff, just as honest as they come. Love the ration pack videos. It is interesting to see what each country has related to their culture. What would be the breakfast meal in this one? Coffee and the biscuits with jam I suppose. Love your honesty, and I had a laugh when the fruit cocktail jumped out at you. P.S. maybe the pink tin is supposed to be for stray cats that wander into the battlefield? It looked like cat food anyway.
