Normalizing data is necessary when you try to combine data with different values in different scales. You will need to find a way to present the result in a commonly understandable scale that is representative for all used values.

Hey Klas, well done! What a nice video on a difficult topic. It' so important to understand your numbers when doing maps with statistics, and understanding the implications when using a different mode while using the graduated symbology, e.g. using quantils, equal interval etc.
There is also a nice read on "How to lie with maps" from Mark Monmonier discussing the topic on, well how to lie with maps :D in my opinion a very good read for everyone who is interested in doing cartography

Are there any other resources you could recommend to learn more about data normalisation?

Hi Klas, great insight into normalisation, thanks.

I have a question regarding presenting the result as a map - what is the best way to get an accurate colour legend of blended layers on a layout?
