Today on the show, Jim and I discuss how our dependency on the power grid makes us more vulnerable to disaster than we’d like to think, and all the downstream consequences that would happen if the power grid went down for a significant amount of time, including loss of water, sewage services, and a disruption of supply chains.

We then dig into what you can do to prepare for such a situation, including securing a water supply, storing food, and the skills and mindset you need to weather a crisis. Even if you don’t think you’re interested in prepping, it’s really interesting to think through what you’d need to do to survive an apocalyptic scenario.

Having a bucket toilet is pretty important for sanitation if you have no outhouse. Also a stockpile of sawdust.

I've read all his books in the Patriots series. All awesome books and in fact, I've read a few of them several times. Also have a couple of his prepping books. Didn't know he has a newer prepping book too. Looks like I'll be buying that one soon as well.

If you've never fasted for 24 hours, do it now. It will wake you up.
Then make a habit of it, to acclimate your body, and your MIND to except how to cope. Knowing what you will face, is eye opening. Your imagination, has no idea.

The issues will not be from the initiating event. The downfall will happen because most people have no clue to basic subsistence living. Most people have no clue how to build a shelter, make fire, grow food, catch food, clean food, sanitize water, isolate body waste, treat minor injuries, maintain cleanliness, repair minor breakdowns, teach a group, or maintain cohesion. People from 3rd world societies will be better adapted to survive.

If I've learned anything, it's that SHTF is a slow burn rather than a single cataclysmic event. At least so far; the myriad problems foisted upon real Americans by the illegitimate junta could merely be the orchestra tuning up.

water is one of my biggest struggles I have when it comes to preparing for a disaster I have a hard time storing it in large quantities

Quite detailed n learned, however do not forget our connection to out Lord. Whoever may have stature, "power" armament, but we have God. I'd rather stand with God and be judged by the world, than be judged by God and stand with the world. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. Beans, bandaids, n bullets. We are the last generation. Get holy oil n water, repent, learn to live off grid n canned foods are safe if nuke hits. Love yall n God loves you too. Love, peace, n chicken grease. Do your homework n be proactive please. Since even the federal government says 90% of the people will die in a long term SHTF. Sold a software company and purchased multiple agricultural properties. Anyone in a city or suburbs is dead. Just reality.
Even with money and the help of ranch hands actually growing your own food is still a major learning curve. Even with two tractors and a excavator plus a Hugh Square Foot Garden, Chickens and Long Horn cattle. Even after 2 years of trying and learning, I’m not there yet. But making progress.

I was taught Russian and sent places by the military and thought I was pretty tough, then I met and got to know many types of special ops fighters. Lucky I have some recently retired that are living near me with my financial help.

And I’m still worried with the way the world is going
