Regardless of who would’ve won Best Actor, Best Picture should still have been presented last. You should always save the most important and best award for last

The howls McDormand made was actually a tribute to Nomadland's sound mixer Michael Wolf Snyder, who died a month after the release of the film!

Frances McDormand is the first woman to win an Oscar for acting and producing on the same night!

Them presenting this before Actress and Actor just feels wrong.

An indie movie like this winning Best Picture is still pretty rare, it’s nice to see such a beautiful film being awarded in this way.

So glad this film won but you guys robbed them of their big moment... Best Picture should ALWAYS go last no matter who you're expecting to win Best Actor...

Fun fact. Only other time Best Picture wasn't last nomination at Academy Awards was in 1972, when honorary award for Charlie Chaplin was presented last, after French Connection won BP.

Not sure if people realise, but “their Wolf” who Fran howled for was their incredible sound recordist who sadly passed away a few weeks before that night. His name was Wolf, he was in the in memoriam that year, and from all accounts was an absolutely incredible dude and immeasurably sensitive when working with all the non-actors who made that movie. A pivotal figure on a small crew movie that won an Oscar. Fran’s howling tribute went over the heads of the majority of the people who watched this, but meant so much to the few people who knew. Most people just assumed she was being wacky, but for those few who knew what it meant, that was a truly special moment

Nomadland is completely different type of movie for most of the audience. Diving the world of Style of Documentary feel drama cocktail with Tarrence Malick style of filming were story is just about the journey of a middle age woman suffering from loss, grief, economic collapse, women empowerment, proper wages, capitalism and a lot of more themes to dive in. My personal favourite was The Father but however Nomadland shines as one of the most personal, independent art house type of cinema, which generally doesn't win best picture easily won this year.

Frances Mcdormand has a magnetic personality to the Oscars winning 4 total. She is a great actress in everything she plays, a pregnant deputy in Fargo a grieving mother seeking for justice in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri and now Nomadland. Great Hollywood legend to be.

This film really captures the heartbreak and sadness when you miss someone you loved dearly. Not unable to move forward and get trapped in the past by memories it can be hard to start a new life. This movie really captured those emotions. It can be a boring film for some people but for me it was splendid

Lol they gave the award to a movie about homelessness after they kicked out the homeless off the premises where the show was taking place. The irony is off the charts.

A Fact remained unnoticed that Nomadland is only among the few movies ever in whole 93rd year of Oscar History which is surrounded by the female protagonist as a center of the film to win Best Picture.

It's rare that such a small artistic movie can reach out to mass audience and win major awards! Usually it's the kind of movie that gets like two nominations and nothing more. Pandemic has changed our perspective it seems..

I still don't understand why Best Picture was not last! The Oscars are a bunch of cowards!

A well deserved win for Nomadland. While I prefer The Father as my personal favourite, Nomadland was definitely the most emotionally resonant film to most people.

A well-deserved winner indeed. Shame that this moment and that final wolf howl couldn't have been saved till the end of the broadcast.

Isn't anyone going to appreciate how incredibly great looking Rita Moreno is, imagine she's turning 90 this year but she looks much much younger and actually looks younger than Glenn Close, who is 16 years younger in reality.
