Based on your review of the Enjoywood Pocket-Hole jig I purchased it even though I already own a Kreg kit. It arrived today and it is impressive. Really appreciate your reviews.

I recently started woodworking as a hobby and discovered the endless amount YT channels. After watching my first episode of hooked on wood i subscribed instantly it has now become my favourite channel. Its easy to forget how much work goes into producing such high quality content.

You literally make me want to take up technical drawing again. I don't even know why I stopped. It's so enjoyable scaling your drawings than doing it on the computer. Well for me it is.

You inspire me. ❤

A great video Dennis, as usual, following which I asked for this pocket hole jig as a Christmas present.

I unboxed it yesterday, and found parts in the package whose purpose isn't shown anywhere in the instructions, nor in your video. There are two right angled brackets made from the same black anodised aluminium as the pocket hole jig. Each is 12mm thick, and on the outside measurement the sides are 34mm and 37.5mm, and the width 28mm. There is a hole through each bracket, perfectly machined to accept rods (below) with a screw to secure the rod in place. On one side is a stainless steel plate secured by 2 screws, one as a pivot, the other through a circular slot, enabling the plate to be swivelled and set at an angle to the bracket.

The rods are 6 beautifully machined stainless steel rods, each 6mm diameter and 200mm overall length, with an M3.5 x 8mm male thread on the end, and a corresponding female thread on the other end. They are most likely intended to be screwed together into one long rod.

I have no idea what the purpose of any of these components is, and suspect they were included in the package by mistake, but if anybody reading this has any idea what they may be, please let me know.

I have, of course, photos of them, but I can’t include photos here, unless anybody knows how I can do that?

Thank you!

Dennis, another great review. As usual, I love the jigs you make with the black MDF but I am afraid I must ask you stop using the black MDF. Many of us can not find that product where we live and it is not fair to see such beautiful and functional jigs we can't have. I am kidding of course - keep up the great work in your shop and videos.

Hi Dennis,

thank you for this in-depth review. I startet with a wolfcraft pocket-hole-jig, which was my entry to this topic. I'm a big fan of pocket hole connections, but the small wolfcraft jig came to a limit when I was building angled and complicated structures. I just ordered the XK-4 and when I watched your video I'm 100% sure, that this little jig is going to be exactly what I need.
Keep up the good work!

I bought this because the cheap plastic one isn't fun to use. This was! I couldn't even get the stop on the drill bit at all. Luckily I had another.
I can't compare to Kreg because I've never had one. Thanks for pointing me towards it. I'll copy your platform one weekend.

I really like your tests of China-Tools and sometimes I find these tools from other brands (no brands/imitations) with really low quality. Just came across your test of this jig and looked for it on Lazada, as I am in Thailand. Here it costs just about 1600 THB which is about 42 to 43 USD right now what makes it even more interesting for me. From all shown pictures it looks absolutely original and of good quality. And it also includes 2 of the drill bits. Lets wait and see if it is the same and the quality is as good as in your test.

The Jig I would recommend most is the Armor Tool jig, which has an auto adjust for the bit and works really well. Armor tool also has color coded screws which makes organization easier.
I didn't like the Kreg 720 - I felt like it had parts that didn't fit together well, like the wings. I think you basically have to build a platform for it and that shouldn't be necessary. If I had more patience I might have got it working, but because it was on back order for a very long time originally. By the time it arrived I already had the Armor Tool and also the Massca jig (another solid jig) and I didn't feel it was worth it and I donated it.

Thank You for a well thought-out review of this tool. Your evaluations are always in-depth and clear and logic. (And I wish we could get the black MDF here in South Africa!)

Ditto on the included square driver. Those boxes of kreg screws are available EVERYWHERE. Kreg even makes all the lengths of pocket hole screws.

UPDATE: Today the ordered part arrived and I unpacked it immediately. It corresponds fully to the one shown here. The feel is excellent and it makes an perfect impression. I have made the first test holes and can only fully agree with the post and the absolutely positive assessment of this tool. The price here in Thailand (incl. shipping from China) was 40.80 USD

That looks very much like a variation of Trend's Pro pocket hole jig. The clamping lever is like a car handbrake. Be warned though, that if you hold it like a handbrake, as the clamp snaps shut it can crush your fingers between the handle and the bushing mount beneath it. I drilled out the rivets and made a longer handle from steel flat bar which prevents this. It's a couple of drilled holes and some filing - the rubber grip pulls off and slides onto the new handle. Worth the time to avoid an inconvenient injury.

I only use pocket holes for light work and then if its downward pressure as dowels are stronger, and even stronger than dominos which I find very over rated, but never the less another good and useful video so thank you Dennis well done

I bought the Enjoywood pocket hole jig a few days ago, I already own kreg mini for many years. The Enjoywood is very well constructed, but the drill bit is a total junk. It didn't manage to drill a single hole. You will have to buy the Kreg drill bit if you really want to enjoy this Jig. The toggle clamp is very basic and it is very difficult to find the correct setting for the wood thickness. If you want to improve this Jig you will need to buy a Bessey self adjusting toggle clamp + Kreg drill bit, this will set total price very close to the Kreg 720 which is far superior.
