Η Βόνιτσα είναι κωμόπολη της Αιτωλοακαρνανίας με επίσημο πληθυσμό 4.703 κατοίκων σύμφωνα με την απογραφή του 2011. Είναι έδρα του Δήμου Ακτίου - Βόνιτσας. Είναι παραλιακή πόλη χτισμένη στη νότια πλευρά του Αμβρακικού κόλπου.Κυριότερο αξιοθέατο της πόλης είναι το βενετσιάνικο κάστρο της, το οποίο είναι από τα πιο καλοδιατηρημένα της Ελλάδας. Στην περιοχή υπάρχουν επίσης πολλοί παλαιοί ναοί, ενώ το όμορφο νησάκι στον κόλπο μπροστά από την πόλη ενώνεται με γέφυρα και προσφέρεται για περιπάτους.
Vonitsa is a town in Aitoloakarnania Greece with an official population of 4703 inhabitants according to Census 2011. It Is situated on the south side of Ambracian gulf. The Venetian castle, is one of the best preserved in Greece. In the area there are also many old temples and the beautiful island in the bay in front of the city joined by a bridge is ideal for walks.
