I've done home printer/iron on before at home. It looks really good on white shirts but after the first wash, it looks like its ready to become a house cleaning cloth. So, I recommend this only for one offs such as birthdays, memorials, etc. Something that you will only use one-time.

I love your determination. Just want to help out with the cutting. You can buy a cricut machine and it will cut the exact shape out for you in no time. Hope that helps you love🤗

You can buy weedless inkjet sheets in various sizes as well. So, no longer need to worry about trimming ( but I also used to add a stroke to the edge matching each color shirt so if trimming is off kinda cover that up) .But ironing still itself is more time consuming & not necessarily a perfectly flat pressure on the entire image, so inconsistency will still be an issue. Especially after washing a couple times.
Used heat press...atleast until one can get that sweet automatic unit in the video.

We use to do this back in the day when big tee shirts and graphic tee was a thing and no one had social media and YouTube wasn’t invented at that time

Do you have to cut out the design even when using a heat press for sublimation transfers? Seems like a lot of tedious work. Can you please clarify?

Code-man, y u no use a Cricut? You can layout your design in the design app (or import your PS image), print it out on your friend's inkjet, then the Cricut machine will cut it out perfectly.
Lemmy know when you'd like to hire me as a consultant ;D
