The Sprint races should be a series by itself for reserve drivers. Let the reserve drivers get some action too...

Free practice is super early in Pacific Standard time, so a lot of people miss out on it. Also, I just watch the f1 YouTube highlights for the free practices.

Recent changes to F1 have all been in service of Goldilocks fans. The closer they remain to the original formula, the purer the sport. What's next...rotating cars? "Next week, Verstappen will be driving the Haas and LeClerc will be in the Williams." Instead of "Fan Sevice", or adopting the sport to suit the fans, the fans maybe need to learn to appreciate the sport...and I Freaking Hate Street Circuits...even Monaco.

As much as I love those iconic circuits, and don't think they should permanently go away, I think new circuits is good for the sport.

I think new variety is good although they seem to like adding only street circuits, it be cool to see them add some real dedicated circuits

I kind of like the idea of a Sprint Race of just reserve and junior drivers. It could give the fans an idea of what the cars can do without the main drivers and highlights new talent as a bit of a show of their abilities

I’ve found an interesting track concept for London. It’s a near-figure-8 through Hyde Park and Green Park. It passes by Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey. The pit straight is on the southeast end of Hyde Park. Very few traffic disruptions would be required, though not as cleanly as Melbourne’s street circuit.

If they have FP1 and FP2 with the reverse grid sprint on Friday and FP3 and Qualifying Saturday, it works.
You can also do something crazy and split the qualifying with the sprint results.
So top 10 on sprint will have separate qualification times that would then fill the odd race grid spots. Bottom 10 of sprint would fill the even spots from their perspective qualifying times.

Reverse grind in F1 2005 I think was really fun definitely should be a thing

If they want to do reverse grid on a sprint race, do it determined from the championship position but it has no relationship to the race position but a GP is a set distance not a short race

Sprints will undoubtedly increase budget costs for teams . And likewise, everyone's earning potentials .
Although I see this as a turn and burn solution for the "business" of FOne, there is a bottleneck of new talent waiting to enter the formula one arena . More teams, more tracks, more drivers . (Porsche, Audi, Andretti lets put something together here and quit messing about.)

The whole idea of having sprint races be for newer fans is silly. I'm relatively new I got into it at the end of the 2021 season and is it a learning curve? Yes but that's what makes the sport so fun! There's so much to learn and each race you learn something new and if you watch it with your friends who don't know anything about it either it's a whole experience learning together. It actually gave me a bonding experience with my dad bc he got into through me!

I think the idea of sprint races are stupid because they add nothing to the sport, it's a short race and you really don't have much action, is that really how they want new fans to see the sport at first? Boring and no action? It's clearly for money reasons

Imagine a sprint race at Monaco
I would be bored to death because the only way some one wins form second or third is from doing a under/over cut

reverese grid sprint races could work if instead of giving points to the top 5 or whatever they give points for the number of cars you overtake, that way pol still means something cause you have the most cars to overtake hence more points. and maybe well even see strategic pit stops to let enough cars pass to maxaamize even more points.... just a thought though

The more sprint races you have the more engines they’re going to need. Which means the price cap would have to go up. If they want to mix the grid up, maybe they should look at how MotoGP do their qualifying which is taken over the 4 free practices, and that determines if you do Q1, which is the bottom half the grid. Q2 to see who is on pole.

Honestly reverse grids will only cause serious accidents at turn one. Sprint races are not only a waste of time they are expensive to run with the new cost cap. Plus off course shunts and breakdowns might affect drivers and teams for Sundays race...F1 is not a RealityTV Show! Keep the original traditional F1Format...

If there was no sprints. Max would have won in Silverstone last year

Are they going to raise the number of ICE, that's a lot of wear on the engines, if they do a sprint before every race. F1 is not hard to pick up, we all did at some point. Change just for the sake of change usually doesn't turn out good.

friday practice is in the middle of the work day for americans. next to impossible to achieve numbers of saturday and sunday that tap NA markets

Yeah, please just get rid of them! Dunno why, but sprint race weekends are just boring to watch imo. Probably partially for the reasons that you said about starting grids being WAY more predictable and way less variable for the race. Let's be honest, they're just bad for F1 in the long run and for keeping fans engaged in the sport for a extended period of time
