One thing I forgot to mention is the finishing of the skillets. The new pans are machined and polished. The first gen is not polished. I will do a follow up on the seasoning and how the older holds up vs the newer polished version.

Great presentation Luis. I want a Smithey, but I am reluctant to buy one because of all the negative reviews a had read, people talk about how difficult is to maintain the seasoning. They also talk about many other things that I wouldn’t want to deal with if I end up with one of their problematic cast iron skillets. Smithey have a policy of no returns if you use it, so $170 is a lot of money to spend if you can’t return a product you aren’t satisfied with.

Great video Luis!! I personally like the refinements of the newer skillet. I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the 12” griddle, it came in, and I love it. I never had a gen 1 smithey, I’ve heard the gen 1, were very hard so season/keep seasoned, but not so much any more..

I’m reluctant to but another Smithey. While visually appealing it has been difficult to maintain seasoning. I’m not a casual user either, it’s being used daily.

Simple genius. They need to put you on a commercial. You really take da time to do an absolutely THERAL EXAMINATION & of a product. I believe you can sell SNOW to an ESKIMO. My guy you're good I was paying so CLOSE ATTENTION & you almost sold me, , , , even on da $10 hike yes EVERYTHING is going up. But you LOST me on da price.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I LOVE your modern iron reviews.
