My problem with it is it only has the front camera and not the back

The shortcut only seems to work when I’m holding down the right button on the side of the phone, which is inconvenient. I’d like it to simply hear my command from across the room and perform the action. Am I doing something wrong, or is that asking too much? Because I need to always be physically touching my phone, this seems pointless when I could have just said “Hey Siri, turn on the upstairs lamp (through Homekit).” Basically, I’m trying to find a way to use my phone to control things without having her drive me insane with her “uh huh” and “hmmm” responses. And yes, I say the commands immediately, after saying “Siri” or “Hey Siri, ” without a pause. She interrupts me at least 75 percent of the time, when I ask her to do something.
