Zoom H1 Review & Audio Test

In this video I review, unbox and test the Zoom H1. The Zoom H1 is one of the cheapest recorder options from Zoom but it does a great job at capturing quality audio.

UPDATE: I really should have done an audio test with the Zoom H1 closer up to my mouth as another comparison. The lavalier microphone I am using in this video is extremely cheap and is quite muffled, with a good lav mic this would have sounded so much better.

What's your final settings at now since you've played around with it? Still using WAV 24 / 96? Or did you bump it down? And how about your audio levels? What perfect audio levels have you found perfect? Getting mine soon!

When you switch to the zoom it was much better than the other two I thought.

When you are not using it, make sure you take the batteries out as it drains them dead, even when they are off. It's annoying, I use rechargeable ones. Also, I had an issue with it when it comes to importing the audio to my Mac. The audio only comes out of one speaker. I found a solution by importing into audacity and changing it to mono stereo however it's very annoying doing this every time I use the zoom h1.

I'm gonna get a go pro karma grip on Thursday... im getting the karma because its much smoother than most other mountable gimbles, i know its not the best... otherwise id get a Crane M.... probably wouldn't be to comfortable with a massive gimble stuffed down my mtb shorts lol....
