What If Tardigrades Were the Size of Humans?

Показать описание
They can endure the cold reaches of space. Go without food or water for up to 30 years. And are nearly indestructible. But they’re like really tiny. So, there’s not a whole lot we can do with them. However. What if tardigrades were the size of humans? How could we use them? Would we live in harmony? Or are we no longer top of the food chain?

Size matters a lot, if they were the size of a human, their physiology would change drastically.

They most likely wouldn't keep a lot of their traits, but they would gain new ones.

Yo! I did the math/research with my friend 4 months ago for a fun project. Its crazy!
Though they're actually limited and not as tough as you'd expect,
if they were human sized...
1. it'll take more cells to distribute around them possibly make them weaker.
2. Though they are tough and resilient to the environment around them they are still vulnerable to physical damages like guns, knives and they're also canables so you'd see them attacking each other and possible other living things around us.
3. Tardigrade are also vulnerable to acids such as ones in our stomachs and chemicals
4. They are already at a light weight so they will be floating around relatively and will be sluggish so no, they will not be your flying bison they won't be able to handle carrying the weight.
5. Intelligence, they don't really have much of that so they will not be like pet cows, or any of that.
6. Pressure, since the body has a larger mass of distribution pressure from the seas or space might make them more vulnerable to them.

Edit: Also, 1. Genetic modification or armor may not be plausible due to its complexity to other species.
2. Tardigrades will coming out of our butts and bodies since they can also be found there so they'll literally be ripping you a new one.

Edit 2: Spelling(s)
Edit 3: Grammar
