Retail stores implement security measures in stores that experience higher losses before they roll-out to those with lower losses.
Manufacturers limit the support period for out-of-production products because support for older devices is a huge drain on finances.

These are business decisions based on financial analysis. To associate them with some kind of racist or class/income-based prejudice is ridiculous. There are a few bullet points I agree with you, particularly related to privacy as a feature. But lacking strong legislation, business can and will do whatever the market supports, and the market has shown time and time again they want cheaper rather than stronger.

WTF does any of this have to do with application security?
