The fish you weren’t sure about was a Tupong (referred to as a freshwater flathead) Common in south west vic. They are a migratory fish that head to the sea and estuaries of rivers to breed. Excellent eating if you can find one big enough!

What I love is that you explain everything. Too many channels assume that people understand the terminology used

Gday mate, found your channel a few days ago looking for estuary tips, I moved to NZ last year and I have an estuary about 5 minutes from me, but im like a fish out of water trying to learn it. Nothing like fishing back home in Aus so far. Love the content and all the tips. And love that youre just calm and humble. So many fishing channels are just loud and full of filler. Yours is all business. Love it. Subscribed, Enjoy mate!

Great vid Nev ! There is a need for " average Joe " fishing tips. I'm not knocking them but the top end shows are 90% out of reach of most and while they do have some beach, bank and jetty segments they are still using $500 reels and unlimited bait etc. A " where can I go fishing within car access and a $20 budget show " ! Yours to run with young fella !😎👍

The first time I used live bait was a year ago at Tumby Bay in S.A.
The local bloke called them 'clickers' and he took us out on the flat at low tide to pump them put.
Then we kept them live and as the tide came in on the town beach caught a stack of yellow fin whiting up to our waste in the water. It was surprisingly warm in the water. Love it.
