And then there was one. Here's the 5am open from Meredith's Western Mass News triopoly in Springfield/Holyoke, Massachusetts. They are the last Meredith station to have not switched graphics yet.

WGGB is mainly the ABC affiliate for the area that also carries Fox on its second subchannel. CBS is brought to the market on low powered WSHM-LD (CBS 3). Together the three programming streams form "Western Mass News" which was brought about when Meredith Corporation, who already owned WSHM (a low powered repeater of WFSB with local newscasts) bought WGGB from its local owners in 2014 (who in turn bought it from Sinclair in 2007 in a rare divestiture for that company) and consolidated the news teams at WGGB's studios.

They currently use graphics originally designed for WABC-TV in New York and honestly they don't fit the station at all (not to mention the non standard freakishly huge bug). The pending Meredith pack will be a major upgrade for them. Music is The CBS Enforcer with Advantage signature by Gari Music. This was originally composed for WFSB before they moved to newer WCPM-composed updates (WCPM bought Gari in 2015). Sean King is the voiceover (his use on WGGB pre-dates the Meredith purchase).

Anchored by Sabrina Reilly, meteorologist Lena Dziechowski, and reporter Kaylee Pugliese.

About the whole Sinclair divestiture thing: WDKY has also been divested, and KBSI/WDKA will be divested this year, if not next.

I hope that whenever WGGB/WSHM gets the new Meredith graphics they will stop lying to their viewers by saying that they are the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association Station of The Year, which they are not. They won the Merit Award, which is second place/honorable mention/runner up. For the past several years, the MBA Station of the Year award has gone to WGGB’s competitor WWLP and/or fellow ABC affiliate WCVB in Boston. Did I also mention that the open shows the 2019 plaque and it’s the year 2021? Longtime WWLP/WPRI former anchor Barry Kriger posted a video about this on his Facebook page recently.

Guy Gannett Communications took over this station in 1967...that has since been absorbed into the Sinclair Broadcast Group!

Look likes Channel 7 Eyewitness News mixed with CBS 2 News.
