I love how he went from talking about traditions and japanese history to sometimes just rant about the cutest animals Japan has to offer 💀

Me thinking that someone is throwing pillows at people in the woods at random at first

The fact that there’s a sign means that flying zabutons scaring people happened enough times that the resort decided that it was necessary to put a sign up or the resort thought to themselves when they opened "hey, we should put up a sign to warn people about the squirrels" and someone looked at one of those Deer Crossing signs, nodded, and then made one for the flying squirrels as a precaution, makes me laugh so much. I need to meet the guy who designed that sign

When I went to Japan, me and a buddy went hiking out in the middle of nowhere in Enzan (a little town about halfway between Tokyo and Fuji). There was a bunch of cool abandoned stuff and old signs, but we were being careful since we had bad phone reception and didn't wanna get hurt or stranded with no way to call for help. At one point, we heard something that sounded exactly like a snake, and we both panicked and ran. Turns out it was just a broken drainage pipe making a hissing sound. Then near the end of the hike, we heard some rumbling or growling that almost sounded like a mountain lion or something. I have no idea if Japan even has animals like that, but we didn't think about that, we just immediately started running. Turns out, it was the EXACT SAME broken drainage pipe making a rumbling sound. From one angle you hear a hissing sound from the water coming out of the pipe, and from another angle you hear a rumbling sound from the water bubbling around. Got the shit scared outta me two times by one broken pipe.

I recently traveled to Japan and saw 4 monkey warning signs, 2 bear signs, and one boar sign. I did not see any of those animals. This was in November/ December, so the time of year may have been a factor. I also saw at least 3 kite (the bird) warning signs, and I did see some kites but they were all pretty high up in the air. Love your videos as always

I was expecting something horrifying about momo-chan, but then I remembered this was Japan, not Australia. 😂

Hearing 'flying zabutons' made me first think of some Pokemon trying to attack you in the Japanese wilderness.

You're making really good points for a long trip to Hokkaido. First the Shima-Enaga, now Momo-chan. Anymore of these fluffiness and I'm packing!

What I learned from your videos is Hokkaido is a home for little fluffy cuddly creatures

Musasabi: sounds like the name of a ninja.
Momonga: sounds like the overlord of a great tomb filled to the brim with powerful monsters.

That's absolutely one of the most adorable and wholesome tiny creatures I've ever seen in my nearly 50 years of life.
