VW e-up winter test

A test of the vw e-up! range in winter conditions. The temperature varied between -5 to -10C with light snow on the roads. Mostly 70 km/h to 90 km/h roads. Two ferry passages. Drove most of the time in normal mode, with heater on 19-20C, but the fan turned down to level II.

The E-up is a gorgeous design, compact, minimalist and understated - but would really benefit from having the heat-exchange type heater the new Leaf uses to make it a bit more efficient in winter.

This is in mild weather. We have had our E-up now for almoest 3 years, and 40 000 km. In summer, easy driving you get 150 km. In winter its less, when temp drop to -30-35celsius, the range is about 60 km, we have 27km comute each way, and no problem doing it whitout charging here in North Norway

Thats still ok, so it could do about 90km in those conditions with heating on. That would be enough to get to work and home, and do some chores and get home for most people.

18.3kWh/100km - ganska högt för en så liten bil. Vad brukar du ligga på under sommaren?
