Glad that Simon gets it about keeping the little ones asleep. We had a mesh bumper and it did prevent my kids from getting their arms and legs stuck. Before I got one, my oldest actually did get stuck and couldn’t pull her leg out. It was the reason I bought the bumper.

The dog toy one is why it's good to get versions made for human, when possible, such as tennis balls. Theyre a bit more but even the cheap ones in walmart dont contain lead. Not good for your toddler to chew on, but they at least wont get heavy metal poisoning from it.

There was a news investigation years ago about detergent pods where they presented children with detergent pods and candy made with roughly the same color and pattern. The children universally preferred the detergent pods and had a much more difficult time opening the candy.

We had complicated feelings about the laundry pods; potentially dangerous for our little people, but makes life much easier for a blind adult who does the laundry. (you try measuring with your eyes closed) We ended up using them becausethe washer was in the basement where the kids had very little chance to get their hands on the pods. They were also kept in the middle of the top of the dryer, adding an extra layer of protection

Another solution to the final issue - buy baby toys that are suitable for your dog too. They love a good chew toy and there are plenty of baby-safe balls available. :D

Some bartender in Yspilanti, Michigan created a drink called Tide Pod Shot. It's made with orange, white and blue liqueurs.

Ultrasonic humidifiers: I used a couple making fog cabinets to grow tomatoes without soil or substrates. You support the plants and have the roots in the cabinet. You add the appropriate water soluble fertilizer to the water and let it run. Even when the fog is on the run cycle the roots remain well oxygenated (only cycled at 25% on to save a bit of power).
So absolutely yes, ultrasonic humidifiers carry most anything water soluble into the fog.

Wow... So both of my boys had literally all of these infant-related hazards. And I thought my parents throwing me in the rear windshield ledge on trips was bad...

Detergent pods and button batteries are 2 items I constantly keep an eye out for. I love my little guy and am grateful to be a parent l, but it's a terrifying ordeal 😅

People should really use distilled water for the humidifyers and cpap machines, boiling water just distills all the minerals in the water.

Regarding babies fitting through the bars...when my wife was a baby, her older brother was a toddler. One day, she was crying in her crib, but her parents were just letting her cry it out. It annoyed her brother, who went into her room, and a few minutes later carried her into the living room. They have no idea how he got her out, unless he pulled her through the bars on the side.

I always cleaned my humidifiers often as they would get mold in them extremely fast but I switched to an evaporation type as soon as I learned about that dust effect. It's like walking around a construction site without a mask.

8:58 They literally tell you in every humidifer manual ever to use distilled water and to occassionally clean the system with vinegar exactly because of minerals and bacteria. That's not the product that's just a lack of maintenance. You can make a lot of things dangerous by neglecting them.

In the UK all pet toys are regulated, just like kids and ahem adults toys.

OMG, they JUST outlawed bumpers?!?!? My son is 7 & they (doctors/nurses, etc) have been saying no bumpers, blankets, or pillows in cribs since at least then. I kept my kid in a Halo Sleepsack until he was like 2 years old 😅 After he was 18 months old, it was mostly to slow him down from escaping his crib in the morning😂
