Really great job prepping the floor before the epoxy. You did a way better job at this than we did. Even so ours lasted for years and years before starting to fail in spots. Yours should last well beyond that. Also, .Congrats!

Fill the control joints with silicone sealant, if they're deep use a foam backer rod and squeeze it into the joint about 1/2" from the surface before sealing so you're not spending a fortune on silicone.

Don't use products that shrink or aren't flexible e.g. grout, epoxy, polyurethane etc....

Those control joints will move a tiny amount on a daily basis i.e. open/close and grout etc.. won't be able to handle the movement.

Hi, great vid, thanks for it. I looked at it as I'm going to do the same DIY Epoxy Floor Coating, using the Rust-Oleum 2 1/2 Garage Floor Coating Kit for my garage. My question is, since I reside in the Caribbean, and my garage is not enclosed, if I use the clear coat, I heard that over time, the clear coat turns yellow and if so, can I add and mix the Rust-Oleum Anti Skid to the Epoxy Floor Coating before painting the garage flooring, or would the decorative chips be sufficient enough?? Please chim in and let me know, thanks.

Lol you skip the most important prep- grinding the floor, etching is not good at all and please use PPE for yourself/ baby- those chemicals are no joke for babies 😁✌️

Acid etch is good but NOT used alone as a prep.

You MUST concrete grind the floor.

Step 2: Concrete Grind the floor.

Step 3: Concrete Grind the floor.

Step 4: Concrete Grind the floor.

THEN?, Apply the primer, apply the epoxy & chips, &!then the clear-coat.

Did I mention that you should Concrete Grind the floor?.
