There is nothing wrong with adding sugar to oats, as long as you don't add any overt fats. If you don't want white granulated sugar, you can add turbinado sugar, coconut sugar, or maple syrup.

another trick is using glucose as a sweetener
it may sound derpy, but many ppl have problems with too much fructose if there isnt enough glucose present (optimal absorption is at 1:1 ratio, most fruit r more fructose lopsided)
so especially if u eat a higher carb vegan-ish diet adding glucose whenever u eat fructose (aka most likely with ur oats) decreases the bloating
yea this might not be a whole fruit approach, but for ppl with ibs and what not (which is like 20-25% or so) this is a nice addition
