I always loved heavy metal, but i love many other types of music as well. So after many years i discovered Satyricon, and i must say i have missed it all my life.

I remember when I learnt about 'Black Metal' - My colleague who i worked with knew I was an avid Slayer and Metallica fan and suggested I give this a listen. I have to say that I was immediately turned away with the harsh vocals and strong tunes however it lingered in my mind for days to come. "What was that song I heard and why was the chorus so catchty"....

Satyricon was my first official extreme metal band I have listened. It was around 2006 that I saw this video on MTV2 and I was still very "green" with metal. They made a huge impression on me and years later I came to know that this was actually black metal and thus I was initiated in listening this music.

I would consider Satyricon a starter for those interested in black metal. Nothing too fast or overly extreme. Also, this was my first taste of black metal, so I can't really complain. Classic.
