What I would have liked to be mentioned is the fact your video recordings are limited to a certain amount of time. In some modes you are able to record up to 70 minutes, but usually you only get up to 30 minutes of recording time. Then the camera stops the recording and starts a new one, which takes a couple of seconds. So, you in fact lose a couple of seconds when recording constantly, which also adds hustle when syncing external audio sources with these segments. You are unable to just sync it once you start recording but have to find some work around. Sadly, this gets mentioned far to less in videos about these cameras, but are important to know when owning one. Also, the FOV of the One RS with the wide lens depends on the frame rate you set. If you record in 30 fps or lower, you have a wider FOV, while recording above that frame rate narrows your FOV

I got the One RS for the modularity and it has worked out well so far. I even purchased another core module, so I now have the 360 cam on the handlebar and the action camera on the helmet.
You're right that the 360 camera is less aerodynamic, it moves around after a while. For this, I'm planning on purchasing a vertical battery and it'll look like the X3; problem solved!

I bought the Gopro Max because of the inbuilt GPS but I really dont like the camera at all. Overheating, freezing, lost GPS data streams... can't rely on it.

Another great video! I'm in the process of building my channel and beefing up my infrastructure so I was debating this exact purchase. Thanks for the input! Also, glad it's not just me still filming on a Hero 7. lol.

Greetings from Italy!

I can tell you that the PreProgrammable Mode is available on both cameras! :) The One RS Deserves those two extra points too!!

It's quite a year now that my wife and I have started our jourey in MotoVlogging;
We mount an Insta360 One RS on each helmet (with 4k lens) and a third one with the 360 lens that we swap between our bikes (She rides a 2011 Yamaha XJ6 Diversion and I ride a 2000 Honda CBR 1100 XX)

Cheers!!

Which would you recommend as a incident camera? I've got dashcams for my car but would like to have something for my bike as there's plenty of close calls and it would be handy to have the ability to catch it on vid

Great video. I have a GoPro Hero 8, and I'm sick of it freezing up. I'm looking for a replacement. I use mine for dirt biking and adventure biking. I have the Media Mod for my GoPro and hook an external mic to it as well as an external battery back that I either have in my coat pocket (for adventure riding) or velcroed to my dirt bike helmet to give me extended battery life. I can't stand the short battery life of the GoPro. I know the OneRS has the extended battery pack, but do either of them allow connecting to like an external battery pack via a USB-C cable. I suppose I could keep my GoPro for regular wide-angle shots and get the X3 for 360 video, but the thought of having only one to attach to my helmet or bike is appealing. Which would you suggest?

I have the X3 and love it but ran into bit of recent snag and that is more with customer service; I got audio authorization so had to contact them, a file was sent but didn’t work. Emailed them back but not heard anything in several days. The protection case seems better on the RS when the X3 have couple of waterproof housing that seem to create bad stitch lines.

I'm still confused. I guess I will be impressed with either one and will probably never fully use all of the functionality. Great video!!

Have to say another fun video, personally I want for the X3 I have a standard helmet camera & I wanted the extra 360 functionality to add some more interstitial angles to my footage. Both are good cameras just 1 is dedicated and the other a jack of all trades. Getting the hang of editing either will be fun in the app on a small mobile device. But I wish I had my X3 for my channel earlier.

It seems the best uses for the x3 is using it in a stand-alone setting while the RS is suppose to be used in conjuction with other devices.

For some one who's looking for a wide angle action camera for moto vlogs, i would suggest DJI osmo action 3. Iam using it and it's far better deal than GoPro. No bugs, no freezing issues, excellent 4k footage with fantastic battery life.
